Cinemas around Milnrow

Odeon Cinema Rochdale

Sandbrook Retail Park, Sandbrook Way, Rochdale OL11 1RY, UK – 0333 014 4501

Mid morning visit so very quiet. No longer any ticket sellers, all done by machine which I can imagine could cause queues at busy times. Avoided the confectionery stand which looked well stocked. Seats really comfy. Sound and vision excellent.

The first time I visited here in a wheelchair, I was reduced to tears by the terrible seating allocated to wheelchair users in the small screen Jumanji 2 had been moved to, okay we'd left it a little late after release date, but to expect an individual to sit right in front of the screen and crane their neck up to see? Thankfully my wonderful husband picked me up and placed me on the row above with our children, it was a terrifying few stairs, but ultimately a fabulous relief. Same on way down again. Having said the above, I have since returned and saw Coco (great kids film) in a different auditorium/screen where the disabled seating was far superior to the first experience. I could sit between my husband, children & friend either side of me & either choose to stay seated in my wheelchair or a cinema seat. Such a better experience! Incidentally, one of the EXIT signs in the better auditorium had it's T upside down, it gave us all a laugh before the film started 😂😎 I want one now!

Theatres for Milnrow

The Curtain Theatre

47 Milkstone Rd, Rochdale OL11 1EB, UK – 01706 642008

Great little theatre tucked away on the curry two hundred yards in Rochdale. A good selection of performances all season. At the time of writing the production was The Kitchen Sink, a modern comedy about a dysfunctional family in Withernsea which is really funny. The theatre lobby is quaint but the auditorium has been recently renovated and looks good and, more importantly, provides comfortable seating.

Last visit " Pirates of Pensions " by the Phoenix drama group , very good productions (sadly their last) good seating , disables stair lift , refreshments available

M6 Theatre Company

Studio Theatre/Hamer CP School,, Albert Royds St, Rochdale OL16 2SU, UK – 01706 355898

Great family place ;)

The girls love going here and the annual productions are always excellent. It's really helped give them confidence and encourage them to get involved with the arts.
